Ukraine strikes Russian oil refinery, tankers and ferries in the Sea of Azov - Ukrainian General Staff
On the night of July 11 and 12, the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out large-scale attacks on Russian military and military-economic facilities. The Ukrainian General Staff reported this.
According to the General Staff, on the night of July 12, an attack was carried out on the Syzran oil refinery in the Samara region of Russia. Explosions and fires were recorded on the territory of the enterprise, and the results of the attack are currently being clarified.
According to the Ukrainian side, the design capacity of the plant is about 8.5 million tons of oil refining per year. The enterprise produces gasoline, diesel and aviation fuel, as well as other oil products, which, according to the General Staff, are also used for the needs of the Russian armed forces.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have hit 10 Russian tankers and 4 ferries in the Sea of Azov. According to the General Staff, the tankers are used to transport Russian oil and oil products in violation of international sanctions, while the ferries serve Russian military logistics.
According to the General Staff, on July 11, Ukrainian servicemen also damaged a Russian railway train carrying fuel and lubricants in the occupied Tokmak district of Zaporozhye region.
In addition, the General Staff of Ukraine clarified the results of the strike on the Novatek-Ust-Lug oil refinery in the Leningrad region on July 10 and stated that damage to the oil refinery has been confirmed.
Earlier, the OSINT-analytical group "Kyberboroshnoye" released an analysis, according to which the strikes carried out on the night of July 10 damaged the ships of the Russian so-called "shadow fleet", ports and an oil refinery.
According to media reports, after the attacks, Russia temporarily suspended the movement of ships through the Don-Azov Canal, which connects the Don River with the Sea of \u200b\u200bAzov.
In addition, on the night of July 11, the Ukrainian defense forces also attacked floating facilities in the waters of the Sea of \u200b\u200bAzov. According to reports, the strikes hit 21 Russian tankers.
