Process of Russification of Georgia continues
The pro-Russian and anti-Georgian policies of the ruling party - “Georgian Dream”- is gaining new scale.According to the directive of the Ministry of Education, the Georgian side is accused in the August 2008 war with Russia in the textbooks of the 9th grade of high schools, In particular, the need to bring the Georgian army into South Ossetia is put under question in the text-book (even though Georgian villages were bombed from here), leading to the invasion of Georgia by the Russian army.
Also, the textbook negatively assess the decision of Bucharest in April 2008 that Georgia and Ukraine will become members of NATO. In the book, students are directly encouraged to make friends with a large neighboring country (occupier Russia) and not with Western countries, which are relatively far from Georgia.
This is the Russian narrative that the Kremlin utters every day; the traitorous and pro-Russian ruling party brings it all to fruition and offers future generations a distorted, fake history useful for Putin Russia.
